TREX Recycling Program
Our newest project: Trex Recycling Program. Did you know that the average 500-square foot composite Trex deck contains 140,000 recycled plastic bags? Trex offers the opportunity for us to collect plastic bags for recycling. If we collect 1000 pounds, we will receive a free Trex park bench for placement in our community. We'd love to have your help! Take a look at all the bags that are eligible for recycling, save your bags for us, and drop them off with one of our members or at the Fluvanna County Public Library, EW Thomas Grocery, Fork Union Community Center, Fork Union Baptist Church, Papa Jim's Ice Cream - Lake Monticello, Tractor Supply - Palmyra, and the County Administration Building.
AG(riculture) In A Bag Library Project
The Fluvanna County Library has several Ag in a bag kits that you can check out to help your kids have fun learning. Each kit has a book to read along with some fun activities. We put together these kits using recent Ag in the Classroom books, and they include hands-on activities that coordinate with the book. Check one out and have some fun with a child in your life. Spread the word!
